First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Levelset.
Sales Development Representative
The interviewer rescheduled and then cut me short when I was talking about myself and my background, saying they only wanted to hear about my last job. It felt like they didn't care about me at all during the interview, which makes me wonder about the company culture. They asked typical sales questions you'd find in a textbook. Since I already had another offer, I asked about compensation. Their offer was 30% lower than the other one. I decided to withdraw my application because 60k OTE is really low for an SDR in Austin, and it seemed like they weren't serious about hiring good people. It might be okay for someone new to sales, but I wasn't impressed.
- Can you tell me the top 3 qualities that make a great salesperson?
Sales Development Representative
After applying to Levelset, I was contacted quickly to schedule a 30-minute phone interview within a week. The initial call provided a good overview of the company culture, training, product, and day-to-day responsibilities. Following this, if still interested, we scheduled an in-office visit. For this second interview, I took a general aptitude test, likely to assess personality and strengths. The office visit included a tour and discussions with various managers about my background and aspirations. I then had to make some practice calls to prospects, using a provided script. A quick wrap-up followed, and I heard back within 24 hours, which was efficient and respectful of my time.
- Can you share an instance of a failure? What was its impact on you, and what steps did you take subsequently?
Sales Development Representative
It usually takes a few days for them to get in touch to set up an initial phone screen. The first call is with Pierce, who is really great. It's a pretty straightforward and pleasant conversation, mostly asking about your general approach to the SDR role to see if your personality is a good fit. If they decide to move forward, you'll be invited to their office for an in-person interview. During this stage, you'll meet with three different managers who will assess your fit for the team and conduct a mock sales call with you. The whole team is very passionate and helpful. Honestly, this has been the most transparent and enjoyable interview process I've experienced. They even called me with an offer before I had even left the building after my in-person interview. They really make you feel like you belong.
- Can you tell me about how you handle rejection?
