First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Leonardo.
Graduate Engineer
After submitting my application, I was sent a link with some questions about my motivation for joining and my eligibility for security clearance. Then, I was invited to a digital interview where I was asked about my motivation for the job, my skills, and about challenges I've faced during university or work.
- Why are you interested in joining Leonardo?
- Are you eligible for security clearance?
- What motivates you to pursue this role and what skills do you possess?
Graduate Engineer
I applied online and sent my CV. Then I did some online tests and they invited me to an assessment centre. The AC had a group assessment which was fun, and then a one-on-one interview where they asked me about my third year project because I hadn't done my final year project yet. I didn't get the job and they wouldn't give me any feedback even though I asked a lot and they said they would. HR took my bank details for travel expenses but claimed they were wrong. I checked them multiple times when I submitted them but the refund never came. It's annoying when companies do this.
- Can you present your individual project on composites?
Graduate Engineer
We kicked off with a meet and greet on-site and a tour. You had some free time at the hotel before dinner and wine with other applicants. Breakfast was provided the next morning, followed by group exercises, a presentation, and a written test. Lunch with assessors was next, then the interview. The whole session was pretty relaxed, a refreshing take on assessment centres, as they emphasized it's a two-way street for you to get to know us as much as we get to know you.
- Give a 10-minute presentation on a project related to the role, followed by Q&A.
- In the written test, answer 7 questions about the company's activities, expressing your own opinions backed by facts, within two pages. Fact sheets will be provided.
- Describe a situation where you failed and how you managed to move past it.
