I applied for this role via a referral and got a recruiter call, then a call with the Hiring Manager. The next step was supposed to be an onsite with the Team. Both the recruiter and Hiring Manager calls went well. The Hiring Manager reached out to me separately to give me the details. When they were ready to move forward, the RECRUITER still didn't respond at all. They didn't even send a rejection, and the job was still posted, so it felt like a complete waste of my time trying to get a hold of them.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

Leo Burnett is my go-to nightmare interview story. I interviewed for an Analyst position on the Optimization team. The process was standard until the in-person round, which had 8 interviews with different team members. The interviewers weren't good (clearly no training), and some were hostile. One interviewer asked me why I got a BA instead of a BS degree, and when I explained I didn't have a choice at my university for a math major, he kept insisting it was too hard for me. It felt intentionally mean, maybe to test how I'd handle difficult clients? Another interviewer asked a lot about Econometrics, so brush up on that if you're interviewing for this team. Everyone warned me about their boss, the last interviewer, but he was the only welcoming one. After weeks of no response from recruiters (8-12 weeks!), I was called back for another in-person interview for a new opening (apparently I didn't get the first job, but was never told!). This started with a lunch where they told me I'm "bad at interviewing," but their boss liked me so much they brought me back. Then came more easy, unremarkable interviews. Finally, months after starting, I was rejected (and glad to be done!).
