First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Lenovo.
Enterprise Account Manager
I got this job through networking with contacts at Lenovo. I was really disappointed with how things went with them. I did a phone screen after getting endorsements from 3 people internally for the job in a two-state area. The phone screen was pretty standard: we went over my resume, the job details, and my background in tech sales. They told me that because of my Enterprise Accounts experience, my knowledge of the accounts and territory, and my prior work with Lenovo, I was a perfect fit. The internal recruiter said she'd pass my info to the hiring manager and I'd hear back about an in-person interview within a week. After a week with no word from Lenovo, I emailed my recruiter, but got no reply. So I called her directly, and she mentioned the manager was traveling and they were running behind, but I'd have an answer in a few days. After several calls and unanswered voicemails and emails, I finally gave up on Lenovo.
- The hardest part of the interview process was getting honest answers from the recruiter.
Global Account Manager
Super straightforward process: first chat with a recruiter, then the hiring manager. After that, a couple of talks with the Exec Director and SVP. Then, one last meeting with the hiring manager again before it went to HR. The whole thing wrapped up in under a month.
- Can you walk me through your experience?
- Tell me about the deals you've managed.
- What are your contacts within the customer?
Account Manager
I had a phone pre-screen with a staffing consultant about my experience. Then, about a week later, I had a second phone screen. After that, I was set up for an in-person interview. I had to drive 500 miles to attend the interview. A manager who seemed much younger than me conducted the interview and was distracted by a hotel event. She even compared me to her father. I followed up with thank you emails and calls but got no response. I eventually learned from the original staffer that they hired someone internally. It felt like a waste of my time and gas. The whole thing took over a month.
- Can you tell me why you are interested in working for Lenovo?
