Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at LendingClub.
Credit Specialist
I applied online and had a panel interview with 3 senior credit supervisors. They asked basic questions like 'describe yourself' and about my experience with credit roles. This panel interview was a bit different from one-on-one interviews because they presented variations of the same questions to see how I'd respond. Since consistency is important, I made sure my answers were detailed and sophisticated, as LC would expect from an employee.
- Could you please review this client documentation and tell us what stands out to you?
Credit Specialist
They can take a while to get back to you, mine took 3 weeks, so don't get discouraged. Use that time to really dig into what the job is about and who the company is. I had a bunch of one-on-one chats, including with the direct manager, their boss, some second-tier management from another department, two senior credit specialists who used to do this job, and HR. Everyone was great, so make sure you bring your best self. Remember, this role is all about handling a lot of work!
- Can you elaborate on your preparation for this interview and any questions you have?
- The interview will include a mix of standard questions and questions specific to this job.
Credit Specialist
I applied on the company's website and then got a call back for a phone interview that lasted about 30 minutes. After that, I was invited for an onsite interview. It was a back-to-back session with 4 people and took about 2 hours total. I met with the recruiter, two supervisors, and one senior supervisor.
- Can you tell me a bit about yourself?
