Registered Nurse
So after you apply, a recruiter will email you to set up a phone screen. We'll chat about your background and what you're looking for. They'll also cover stuff like onboarding, benefits, and general pay. After that, they'll either send your application to the hiring manager to look over, or the recruiter will just set up the interview for you directly.
- Why are you interested in working at LVHN?
Graduate Nurse
Applied online, HR took over a week to get back to me. After discussing my specialty interests, she said she'd check with the manager. A week later, I was scheduled for an interview in two days. The interview was mostly about vibes and included a shadowing opportunity afterward. I got an offer the following week.
- What is your motivation for becoming a nurse?
- What are your career aspirations for the next five years?
- Describe the kind of team environment you are seeking.
Fellow Pulmonary and Critical Care
The interview process was relaxed and informal. I met with the Program Director, Assistant Program Director, and an attending physician for a face-to-face discussion. I also had the chance to talk with current fellows about the benefits and work culture of the program. There were plenty of opportunities to ask questions about the program.
- Tell me about your future aspirations and goals.
Engagement Specialist
I had a phone interview that went well, and then an in-person interview that also went great. They offered me a salary range, and with my experience, I was at the high end. I was offered a job and accepted. Things got messy when I spoke with HR. She was unprofessional and low-balled me on the offer. When I mentioned my 12 years of experience and that I discussed it with the department, she tried to belittle me by saying I only had nine years of experience, which was ridiculous given I had two kids in between and remained employed. She said she'd talk to the department and get back to me. After four days of silence, I contacted the department and explained the situation. HR then emailed me the salary range again in writing, which I was happy with. Then HR sent another email rescinding the offer because I was supposedly 'over the pay range.' There was no negotiation, no clear communication, and it was disorganized. It's disappointing, especially with my 12 years of management experience. I asked HR why they rescinded the offer when the department had just sent me an email with a range I was happy with, but I was met with silence. It seems like they don't want to pay people their worth and expect you to accept anything, even if it's below your value and a range you were previously happy with. I think I dodged a bullet.
- Tell me about the skills you possess.
- Could you share some details about the position?
