I applied for a PR job, but during the first interview, they said it's more of a management role, not really PR or sales. I initially thought it was a misunderstanding, but I went with it. They asked standard questions like why I'm looking to switch jobs, what I think the company does, why I want to work there, and what I'm looking for in a job. The recruiter asked about salary expectations, and I said I wanted to start at my current pay, expecting growth. She mentioned they start entry-level hires $8k higher, which sounded great. I got a call back quickly for a second interview. However, my suspicions were confirmed. The job wasn't as presented; I'd be working 50-60 hours weekly and start at $0 pay, relying solely on commission, despite them saying it wasn't sales. They advised taking notes, which was helpful. They need to improve their interview training. The second interviewer asked about my living status, which is illegal in California. This is ironic since compliance was supposed to be part of the job. While I don't wish them ill, I believe candidates should hold interviewers to the same high standards employers expect from candidates. I'm sharing this so future candidates aren't misled.

I had a phone call from Legion where some basic questions were asked about me. I thought it was the recruiter, but it turned out to be the receptionist who asked the same questions to everyone. Then, very quickly, I was invited for an in-person interview with the Hiring Manager the next day, scheduled for 30 mins but it only lasted 10 mins. It wasn't really an interview, more of a chat. I was asked a few general questions and told about the position. The title was fancy, but the job description sounded more like Sales and training new salespeople. I figured I'd be going to client stores to sell, not assisting anyone as the title suggested. I got a call 4 hours later inviting me to a second interview with the Account Director the next day, but I declined. It wasn't a bad experience, just seemed a bit fishy and too easy.

First up was a group interview on Zoom that lasted about 40 minutes. It was informative and they asked some basic questions. The conversation was great, and everyone had a super nice and friendly attitude. Then, the second interview was with an account manager/mentor and it lasted about 45 minutes. They were very informative about the company and what the job expectations and responsibilities are, and answered any clarifications. They asked more basic questions too. It was a great and friendly conversation as well!
