Teacher
I had to get a lesson ready and then walk the interviewer through it. She gave me really good and useful feedback, with ideas on how I could make the lesson better, and she asked me why I designed it the way I did so she could get my process.
- What was your reasoning behind the design of your lesson plan?
English Teacher
The first interview involves a 15-minute mock lesson and lasts about an hour. If you're selected to move forward, you'll participate in two online sessions, each lasting 1.5 hours, and then two more mock lessons, also 1.5 hours each. You get 30 euros for the training part if you're chosen.
- Tell me about the CELTA teaching method.
- What's your background teaching students, considering their ages and where they're from?
Teacher
The recruiter reached out, and we had a Skype interview. I was offered paid training, and after that, there were two mock lessons to see if I'd be hired. I turned down the offer after the first interview and didn't attend the training. I feel a company that charges students for missed classes but doesn't compensate teachers for their time isn't a good fit, especially when they charge 33% which is unfair given the student is being charged for a missed class. This shows a lack of respect for a teacher's time.
- What is your teaching experience?
- Have you done contract work before?
- Can you perform an internet speed test?
