I applied for a Recruiter role. They asked me to present in 30 minutes without any prior mail on the expectations. One of the panel member was always looking here and here, which lead to distraction. They send you a generic mail with no feedback whatsoever. Office Managers interviewing you with non relevant questions put your motivation Off. Please wear your smile while you Interview, it will help candidates. At least inform candidates before hand about the hiring process. I had made up my mind anyways, not to join such sad Team of people interviewing recruiters. I was referred by a friend and got lost with there 5 rating, hence applied.

The interview process was a bit all over the place, with unclear expectations and feedback loops – I don't think the business really knows what they want in a TA leader. It started with a recruiter screen, then a HM + team member screen that included a case study presentation. There was a final interview and a reference request. Then, unexpectedly, another final interview and team member screen. No references were actually checked. The case study was tough, requiring a full recruiting strategy outline, team build outline, and recruiting metrics outline in just 30 minutes, followed immediately by a presentation. I interviewed with the CEO and got a generic rejection. When I asked for more details, they mentioned a lack of KPIs. We had extensive discussions about using recruiting data to engineer and build the recruiting team, process, budget, sourcing strategies, etc. I even submitted STAR format situational data aligned with Leapsome's core values and past builds. All this indicates they need a strong TA leader who can establish process and structure to support decision-making and enhance candidate experience to meet hiring targets, but I wish I wasn't used as part of their learning curve.

The panel interview, which was the second stage for the Recruiter position, was a complete mess. The hiring managers were really hostile. I can't imagine anyone enjoying an hour-long call with these rigid, robotic people. One interviewer had this smug look the whole time and didn't engage naturally (guess soft skills aren't needed at Leapsome), and the other just stayed silent for the entire hour. Honestly, it was probably the worst interview I've ever had.
