Data Scientist
Started with a recruiter chat, then a phone chat with a Senior Data Scientist a week later, followed by a full day in-person interview with the team.
- How would you manage client expectations for a machine learning project?
Data Scientist
A recruiter reached out, and after a quick call, I was invited for an onsite interview. My first impression of the office was that it was small and boring. Someone came in and asked me about my background and previous data science projects for about 15 minutes. Then, another person came in and asked the exact same questions! It felt like I repeated myself four or five times because they didn't want to sit together and ask their questions at the same time, which really felt like a disrespect for my time. It seemed like only their time was important! After all these questions, I waited alone in the room for about 10 minutes, and nobody showed up. When I asked what was happening, they told me my interview was over and I could leave!
- Can you walk me through your background and any data science projects you've worked on?
- Given this data structure I've been working with, can you solve the problem on the board?
Data Scientist
Applied online via Indeed and received a call within a week. The initial phone interview was straightforward, focusing on my background and data experience. About a week after that, I was invited for an onsite technical interview.
- Given raw time series patient data from a hospital, how would you approach cleaning it?
- Can you explain the concept of recursion?
- What's the probability involved with a loaded coin?
