It's a great process and a great place to work if you're a teenager or young adult needing some extra cash, especially as a starting job. They have flexible scheduling and short hours. It's a minimum wage job with not many tips, but overall, it was a good experience.

I interviewed for a bartender job at Lazy Dog on July 26, 2025. It felt like a good mutual chat, and I felt good about it. They said they'd call by July 29, but I called them on the 27th and they already hired someone else. I was bummed because it felt like a strong interview and I expected them to at least let me know.

The interview process was super fast and simple. I applied and got an interview the very next day! Just make sure you have your basic interview skills and stuff ready and you'll be fine! The managers are really nice and easy to chat with. They ask really basic interview questions, nothing too hard!

I sent in my resume online and heard back from their recruiter pretty quickly, within a day. Honestly, I wasn't really impressed with the recruiter at all. It felt like she wasn't paying attention to our conversation and didn't seem very interested in what I had to say about my background. About halfway through the call, I decided this wasn't a place I wanted to continue my career. What she said at the end really rubbed me the wrong way, something like, 'well, you might hear from me, or you might not; if you don't, just assume you didn't get it.' Seriously? You can't even send a quick email or call to let someone know if they've been selected or not? I took the time to apply and talk to you, and you can't offer the basic courtesy of finishing the process? That's a really poor way to hire. Don't try to sell yourself as a family company that's different from other chains when you're clearly just the same. First impressions matter, and Lazy Dog Restaurants did a terrible job of representing themselves. I definitely won't be working there or recommending them.
