They quizzed me for 30 minutes about what documents are needed for filing, what kind of questions I come up with when drafting discovery, and what I talk about when I call clients. Then they informed me that paralegals at their firm never talk to clients or produce original work, and that it’s all premade forms. A waste of time.

Behavioral Other

I interviewed with the owner and another staff member. The owner was incredibly rude and aggressive, constantly interrupting and talking over me. It was the rudest interview experience I've ever had. At the end, when I asked if I had questions, he got up and walked away. It felt more like an interrogation than an interview. His unprofessional conduct was very alarming and concerning.

I spoke with an HR rep who recorded the interview for the attorneys to review. She told me when I should hear back about the next steps and we talked about work-life balance. She also shared the salary range and asked if I was okay with it. It wasn't a super tough interview based on my resume, definitely had harder ones before. She was professional but friendly. The interview was about 30 minutes long.

  • What are your salary expectations for this role?
  • What is your motivation for pursuing employment law?
  • Are you more interested in transactional, mediation, or litigation work?
