I interviewed with the hiring manager first, and then the recruiter contacted me afterwards, which felt a bit out of sequence. The manager was really great – engaging, thorough, and responsive. However, the recruiter never followed up with any feedback on our interview. I actually found out my application wasn't moving forward from a Workday status update email before she even reached out. I had to chase her multiple times for an update, and then she finally told me they were no longer considering my application. This whole process dragged on for over a month. The recruiter's follow-up was pretty poor, making for a negative overall experience.

The interview process was really thoughtful and thorough. There were quite a few interviews, but they were organized and the company just wanted to make sure I was a good fit for the right team. It felt strategic and professional! I enjoyed everyone I spoke with, and it reassured me about the position and working with the company overall.

I applied online and was contacted back by a recruiter pretty quickly. I knew how the process at Lasalle worked, so I went in being aware that they often interview candidates for general roles rather than the specific one they applied for. Also, I realized I was seen as both an 'interviewee' and a potential 'client,' meaning if they didn't hire me internally, they'd try to place me at external companies. I applied to work for Lasalle, not to be placed elsewhere, but I went through with the interview. First, I met with a recruiter who asked general questions about my work history, focusing on what I liked and disliked about previous jobs. None of the questions were specific to the recruiter role I applied for. She explained their interview process and mentioned she'd discuss with her team where I might fit best. After that, a second recruiter came in and asked more questions, entirely focused on external placement opportunities. She noticed my event management experience and offered to find event jobs in Chicago for me. This was a turn-off because I can find my own jobs. I mentioned that Chicago's event industry is heavily corporate meeting-focused, which isn't my interest, and respectfully declined her offer. The interview concluded with them saying they'd look for a suitable internal or external spot and get back to me. I haven't heard anything in two weeks. While Lasalle Network seems like a great place with friendly staff, their interview process needs improvement, specifically in distinguishing between candidates wanting to work *for* Lasalle internally versus those seeking external job placement *through* Lasalle.
