Interpreter
It's super frustrating to get a response about a job I applied to way back in October 2024, like 13 months later. I actually did the English and a pre-recorded video interview they sent last week but then got rejected without any feedback. They didn't even let me do the French test. Since English is my first language, there's no way I failed that test. If you're just going to decide based on other candidates without even considering me, then don't bother asking me to do an interview and a language test a year later. You could have just checked my application like most other places do.

Interpreter/Translator
The interview process involved 4 stages. First, a phone interview to go over basic details. Then, an online exam. After that, there was a 1-month online training, 8 hours a day. Finally, another exam was given based on a pre-recorded conversation for interpretation in the target language. Passing this exam meant selection, while failing led to rejection.

Contract Specialist
I applied online and the recruiter contacted me the next day to confirm salary and benefits. Two days later I got a set of experience questions for the role. The next day, the recruiter set up an initial interview. After that, I interviewed with the hiring manager, and then the director. The director said I was moving forward and to wait for the recruiter. The recruiter contacted me a week later, saying they were on vacation and someone else would handle my application. A week after that I asked about my status, and two days later I got an automated rejection email. It was surprising, rude, and unprofessional because I got no feedback or explanation, even though the hiring manager had emailed me directly about being excited for me. I have nothing good to say about LanguageLine.
- Can you detail your legal background?
Spanish Interpreter
It was all done over the phone. I first had an interview with the admin person. We talked through my CV, my skills, the job, and what they were looking for. Then, I had a second phone interview with the same person and someone who speaks Spanish. We did a role-play. The admin acted as the medical professional, I was the interpreter, and the other person was the patient. I had to interpret between English and Spanish.
- Could you please share your availability, skills, qualifications, and background?
- How would you interpret this scenario where a patient's son has hit his head and is at a medical appointment?
