First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Language Services Associates.
Interpreter
The interview process felt unnecessarily long and complex. It seemed to focus more on technical specifications than on actual interpreting abilities. Despite my setup being fully functional with other services, they pushed for additional, non-essential equipment. They also required a test, which felt redundant given my extensive background in professional interpreting. It felt more like navigating obstacles than a genuine assessment.
- They repeatedly inquired about my technical setup, even though it already met professional standards and functions correctly with other interpreting platforms.
Interpreter
I was found on LinkedIn and then asked if I was available for a phone interview. The HR person was competent and nice. I was informed that I would need to do an online assessment, then an interview to check my English skills, and finally an interview where I would interpret a medical situation in both Spanish and English.
- What makes you want to be an interpreter?
- Have you worked as a professional interpreter before?
Interpreter
I got a call for the interview. It was easier than I thought. The interviewer told me what to expect when I work there. After the call, I have to do an assessment called Rise. I can set my own schedule and get paid per minute.
- Can you share your background and experiences in interpreting?
