Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Langan Engineering and Environmental Services.
Environmental Engineer
Got a basic interview experience. Started with an initial phone call screening from HR, then had two rounds of interviews over Teams. They asked basic questions about my resume, project experience, field work experience, and school/course background. I was asked to be prepared to answer questions related to goals, teamwork experience, and field vs. office work.
- Can you tell us about the xx experience mentioned on your resume?
Civil Engineer
Applied online and then had a phone screen about a month later where they asked standard questions and quickly went over my resume. About two months after that, I was invited for an in-person interview. This interview felt pretty casual and unstructured, maybe a bit lacking in clear direction.
- Can you walk me through your resume?
- Tell me about the projects listed on your resume.
Environmental Engineer
Got a call from the recruiter, super chill, talked about the company, my background, and why I want the job. She asked about a time things went sideways and how I handled it. Then she set up a video chat with two engineers at the office. It was pretty relaxed, they chatted about the job, their work, my experience, and my interest. Got the offer verbally a few days later from the recruiter, then the official offer letter via email.
- Can you share an instance where a plan didn't work out and how you managed the situation?
- Describe a time you took the lead on a project without being asked.
