The interview was a really great experience. The recruiter was super friendly and helped me feel way more comfortable. First, they asked me some basic things about where I live, my internet connection, and my previous work. Then, we talked about the hourly pay they're offering. Finally, I did a short 10-minute demo lesson. They said I did well afterwards but also gave me some helpful feedback in a really positive way.

The interview process was pretty straightforward and quick, lasting only a few minutes initially. This was followed by a training session to assess teaching skills, which is basically a confirmation step for getting the position. Surprisingly, there's a second training session that's quite similar to the first, but I found it helpful nonetheless. My previous experience teaching in public schools in Vietnam means it wasn't a huge departure. I think this training is particularly useful for those new to teaching. It provided a good overview of the software and what to expect. I had to wait about two weeks to start, which I was told was due to lower demand for teachers at the time. This suited me fine as I wasn't in a hurry, but it's something to keep in mind. The entire process spanned nearly four weeks. My first day has just passed, and so far, everything seems okay. Nothing particularly stands out yet. It's been good so far. I plan to write a more detailed review after my first month.

Instructions weren't clear on who calls whom, leading to a long wait and missed connections. I had to initiate contact multiple times. It felt like they expected perfection without adequate guidance or training, which is unlike real teaching where we adapt and support students. I was told I talked too much and should use a method (TPR) that felt a bit awkward. While some feedback was useful, like correcting pronunciation, other points like having a nicer background seemed minor, especially when I was disappointed not to have a chance to re-do the lesson after receiving corrections.
