First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Lamar Advertising.
Data Analyst
The interview included behavioral questions and questions about data extraction and relating data to other tools. I was also asked about my willingness to relocate and given some visualization questions. Time management was another topic discussed.
- How do you manage your time?
Sales and Campaign Coordinator
I applied online and heard back from the manager a couple of weeks later who set up an in-person interview. The interview itself was pretty standard with typical questions. The manager mentioned they'd be out the following week, so I wouldn't hear back for a couple of weeks. When I didn't hear anything the week they said, I followed up via email the following week after that (using their direct email from when we scheduled the interview). Still no response as of Oct 30, 2018. The recruiting process definitely needs improvement; a simple rejection email would be appreciated after people invest time and effort. I ended up taking another job, assuming I didn't get this one. It's ridiculous to be ghosted.

Sales and Campaign Coordinator
The interview process itself was great. Their follow up, or lack thereof is what pulls my rating down. 2 weeks after submitting my application, I received a phone call asking if I was still interested in the position and if they could set up a virtual interview. An interview was scheduled for the following week, they were fairly flexible with my availability and we communicated via email up until the interview. The first interview was with a hiring manager and the sales manager. It went smoothly, they asked mostly canned questions and a few questions about a couple of items on my resume. At the end, they asked for a reference list - which I provided the same day and stated they had a couple of other candidates they were interviewing. A few days later I was emailed about coming in for an in person interview. That was set about a week and a half after the first one. That one seemed to go smoothly as well. It was with the same hiring manager, sales manager, and a territory manager. I was told at that interview that they were hoping to have the chosen candidate start just over two weeks after that date and I told them that date would be a good start date for me. I emailed the next day thanking them for their time and told them they could reach out with any further questions. Then again a few days later to check on the status. Then a couple of days after that, I called to check on the status. I have yet to hear anything back from either form of communication. The entire interviewing process was very professional and smooth, but leaving a candidate unanswered is very unprofessional in my opinion. It’s worse to feel like you did something wrong if in reality it just wasn’t a good fit on their end. I don’t believe they have filled the position, as the job is still posted.

- Are you still interested in this job?
- Would you be open to a virtual interview?
Account Executive
I had a phone call interview that lasted about an hour. After that, I flew to Vegas for an in-person interview that spanned two days. During those two days, I shadowed people in the office. It was a pretty fun experience because I got to hang out with current account executives and even go on appointments and meetings with them. They also took me out to a great restaurant on the Las Vegas Strip.
