First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Lahey Hospital & Medical Center.
Supply Chain Analyst
My interview process was a bit of a rollercoaster. I first had a recruiter call, which was not professional. Then I interviewed with the director and managers, and it was a really great conversation; the people were very nice and professional. I got a second interview soon after to talk with the teams. I prepared a lot and was really excited about this opportunity. However, two days before that scheduled interview, the HR partner suddenly called to ask if I needed sponsorship. I said yes, and she immediately said sorry, she was canceling my next meeting with the teams because they don't provide sponsorship. She stopped replying to my emails after that. The HR was very unprofessional and didn't do her homework, as she should have noticed I checked the box for needing sponsorship when I applied online. She wasted both my time and the manager's and teams' time. Despite the HR's unprofessionalism, it still seems like it would be nice to work with the supply chain teams, as they are professional and excited about their work. Overall, it was still a good experience.
- What is your weakness?
Administrative
The process started with an HR contact, and then I met with two people: the department manager and a future colleague. I confirmed I could handle the job's duties, and the manager even said I was overqualified. It's a part-time role, which means a significant pay cut from my last job. I was keen to get a position, but not that keen. They offered flexible hours and days, but then asked if I'd be open to taking on more responsibility and working more hours if things got busy. They also asked if I'd consider full-time work, including Saturdays if I wanted. The manager got upset when I was honest about looking for a full-time role. It became clear it was a one-sided situation.
- Are you interested in a full-time job?
Team Leader
It starts with a call from HR, then you'll have a 1:1. There isn't really a set interview process. If the director likes you, you'll probably get hired. They don't pay well. They've had situations where a manager has only one person reporting to them. They'll exploit everything they can from you before considering hiring more people. The company's planning is terrible. Getting the resources you need to do your job is a struggle. There isn't enough space to fully describe how bad this place is. This place is only good if you want an immense challenge and are prepared to sacrifice your personal life. There's a reason so many people are looking to leave.
- I heard from new colleagues that it's all about luck and there's no equal opportunity?
- Is management extremely biased and shows obvious favoritism?
Registered Nurse
It was a quick and easy interview process. There were multiple staff members that interviewed me. It sometimes required 2-3 interviews. They asked questions about my resume, experience, and why I wanted to work for the hospital. Overall, it was an easy interview process. I was able to park on site and just got my ticket validated since I was coming in for an interview.
- Can you introduce yourself?
- Could you elaborate on your background and experience?
