First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Labelbox.
Software Engineer
The interview process was pretty smooth. It included questions about my experience and then launched into two technical interviews. There were two rounds in total: one with HR and then one with the hiring manager. Overall, it was a straightforward process, and I had no complaints.
- Can you tell me about the projects listed on your resume?
Software Engineer
The whole interview thing took about three weeks from the first chat to getting the offer. It could've been faster but sometimes time zone differences made things take an extra day. First, I had a screening call with a recruiter who checked if my background fit the role. Then, I interviewed with the hiring manager; it was split between behavioral questions and technical stuff. After that, there was a take-home test on Coderbyte, which involved building two applications. There wasn't a strict time limit, but doing one part on their platform was a bit awkward. Finally, I had a panel interview with three sessions back-to-back, with short breaks. These covered behavioral topics, system design and architecture, and a mission and values discussion.
- Can you talk about your past accomplishments?
- Tell me about a time you faced a setback and how you handled it.
- Describe your past experiences working with your manager or supervisor.
Software Engineer
I was contacted for a role that seemed a bit beyond my stated experience, but I passed two coding interviews via video chat. Then I was invited onsite, but the CTO was really rude and condescending when giving feedback, saying I wasn't senior enough. It was strange because they invited me in the first place. The CTO's behavior was quite off, with bloodshot eyes and slurred speech. It seems like many people there already know each other, so I wouldn't be surprised if they're just doing fake interviews to hire their friends. Higher-ups probably don't know what they want in employees beyond who they already know socially.
- Typical hackerrank questions were asked.
- There were leetcode questions.
- React questions were asked on site.
