I sent in my application back in November 2016. After that, I had a phone interview in early January and then an in-person interview later that same month. The in-person interview day was pretty much what I expected. I spent most of the day in one conference room, though I did get a lab tour. It was a good experience, and I was definitely still interested in the job afterwards. Within about a week, the recruiter contacted me and seemed really keen on hiring me. Then came a really detailed background check, which took several weeks. Once that was cleared, they started giving me the runaround about needing to get "finance approval" for the job. For over a month, they kept postponing the meeting, and it seemed like they never actually had approval to hire anyone for the position in the first place. It's clear they're disorganized, and they shouldn't have even interviewed me if they weren't ready to hire. The LabCorp buyout has definitely caused a lot of chaos in the organization, leading to really disorganized hiring and poor communication with both applicants and within the company itself.

The interview was fairly professional. I knew I was overqualified the minute we walked around, even without professional experience and being close to graduation. The work boils down to taking pharmaceutical compounds and mixing them into a carrier solution, something my grandma with basic cooking experience could master in a day. Then, when receiving an offer, it was not only laughable but humiliating – $14.50 an hour. I made that the summer before as a delivery man. I feel bad for anyone who would let a company take advantage of a college grad like that. I was offered $70k a year doing similar work later that week. The only positive was I asked for mileage and was reimbursed for $257.

The process was described in pre-interview info and the initial screening call. It included typical STAR questions about problem-solving, difficult situations, and communication challenges. The atmosphere was friendly, with some casual chatting alongside structured questions.
