Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Labcorp.
Research Assistant
Applied in early May and didn't hear back until Memorial Day weekend. Interview was set for June 1st at the Bedford, MA location. It went well and I felt good about it. It's now August 5th and I've heard absolutely nothing from the Labcorp recruiter, even though she said I was still being considered. I can't even contact the interviewer because I never got his email. Getting ghosted by a company like this is super unprofessional, but honestly, I'm glad it happened so I don't have to work in that questionable environment. I drove almost 3 hours for the interview and got no response. Wasting my time like this is just offensive and childish.
- Can you tell me about your previous work experience, especially as it relates to the requirements for this position?
Research Assistant
I only got through the phone screen and was scheduled for an onsite interview until they cancelled on me. The phone screen was simple and to make sure I was still interested. HR then contacted me again saying that they wanted an onsite interview and to list three dates and times that work for me. I sent them an email back on what times and dates worked for me. I heard nothing back, so I decided to email again to make sure they got my email. They emailed me back saying sorry and to give them three more times and dates. I do and again, I hear nothing from them. I sent them emails for the next two weeks asking if I'm still being interviewed. It wasn't until the second week after all the chaos that I was told that the management changed their minds and they weren't hiring anyone. It was a complete waste of time.
- Tell me about your interest in Covance.
- Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
Research Assistant
A hiring company handled the initial phone screen. They asked me to confirm details from my resume, including my job history (previous job titles, company names and locations, and employment dates). They also requested contact information for each previous employer. The second part of the interview focused on my experience with specific lab tasks and procedures. They presented a list of equipment, assays, and functions, and I had to indicate my level of familiarity with each, from just knowing about it to hands-on experience.
- Could you please share your contact information for each employer you've worked with, extending back ten years?
