The hiring process was pretty efficient and moved quickly. Typically, there are 2 to 3 stages, but it can vary based on the recruiter's assessment. It started with a message from the recruiter, leading to a phone chat where they asked about my interest in the role and the company. Next was an interview with the hiring manager, and if successful, the final step was a panel interview involving the hiring manager, senior managers, and team members. The recruiter and hiring manager were quite responsive throughout. The whole process usually wraps up in about 2 to 3 weeks, depending on how quickly the candidate responds and prepares.

I was handed off between two recruiters who gave me conflicting info. Even with my 11 years of PM experience, they first said the PM team didn't think I was qualified, but then a recruiter corrected themselves 3 days later saying the PM team actually did want to speak with me. They told me I'd get an interview time by the end of the day, but I didn't hear back for 5 days. I decided to look for other opportunities.

Behavioral Presentation

I found the job online and a recruiter from Covance got in touch after a few days to set up a phone interview. It was a 30-minute call where the recruiter went over my resume and asked about my past experience and my thoughts on animal research. About three days later, I got an invitation for an in-person interview at their New Jersey location, which they arranged and paid for. The onsite interview lasted four hours and involved meeting three different managers, plus giving a presentation. They were all really welcoming and helped me feel comfortable before we started. They had a set list of behavioral questions ready to go.
