Intern
The process started with HR emailing me to set up an interview call. The next step was a phone call. During the call, I felt the HR person didn't really know the job details and was winging the questions. The whole conversation felt really cold and pointless. Even though my CV was a perfect match for the job, I got rejected. Fast forward six months, I saw another job posting that was a great fit for my skills and what I like doing professionally. I applied again, but this time with a different email because I couldn't remember the password for my old account. Again, I got an initial call. But when the HR person realized we'd talked six months before, she completely lost interest and didn't ask any questions about the job. It was like getting rejected once meant I couldn't reapply to the company ever again, no matter how qualified I was or how much time had passed. Super unprofessional HR.
- What are your thoughts on animal testing?
Placement Student
I had an initial chat with HR, which was really pleasant and put me at ease. After that, I went on to a second interview with two staff members. They mainly asked 'Tell me about a time when...' type questions. It felt like a typical interview, nothing particularly good or bad, but it was hard to really make myself stand out.
- Tell me about a time you collaborated within a team.
- What drives your motivation?
Placement Year
Lots of questions about what you know about the company, why you're applying, and about your course. They also asked about animal testing and to confirm you have the right to work.
