Customer Service Representative
Applied online, then got contacted a few days later to set up an interview. Went in, signed in, waited in the lobby for about 20-30 mins. HR came and took me to do a computer test with 4 phone call scenarios on how I would handle them (not timed). After passing, I went upstairs to meet with 2 managers. They were nice and asked about my work history, a lot of scenario questions, and 'tell me about a time when' questions. They then asked if I had any questions. They explained the typical workday and company/position details. They said I'd be contacted if selected. About a week later, I got an email saying they went with someone else, but then another week after that, HR called and emailed with a job offer, which I accepted.
- Tell me about a time you dealt with an unhappy customer.
- How would you handle an upset customer?
Customer Service Representative
I applied online and completed an assessment. After some time, I got a call from HR. Then, I was scheduled for an in-office assessment, which included four simulated collection calls and an interview if I passed. I passed the assessment, and HR did a preliminary interview. After that, I was told I'd meet with supervisors for the formal interview. I met with two supervisors who asked a mix of situational and general questions. The interview itself was about 20-30 minutes, but the entire process took around 2.5 hours. I was informed that if the managers wanted to proceed, a background check would be required, but this wasn't mentioned after my supervisor interview. The HR person said she'd call by the next week before the supervisor interviews, so I'm waiting to see what happens.
- Can you share an instance where you exceeded expectations to assist a customer?
- Describe a situation involving an angry customer you had to deal with.
Customer Service Representative
I applied and got a call about a week later from HR. They gave me info about the job and asked for my high school transcripts and references for the background check company. We then scheduled an in-person interview with the supervisor. The HR person basically offered me the job, pending background and school verification. A couple days later, I had the interview. It was pretty straightforward, mostly just describing the position. It was pretty easy. I was set to start about three weeks later.
- General and simple questions were asked.
