First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at La-Z-Boy.
Sales Manager
It was a pretty straightforward and friendly interview process. They asked basic sales questions that any seasoned sales manager should be able to handle. I didn't really get the full picture of the job until I started doing it, since it's a sales associate role with some added managerial duties.
- How would you manage a situation where phones are ringing, a shipment has arrived, and there are more customers than employees available?
Sales Manager
I had a phone interview first, then I came in for an in-person interview. A week later, they called me back with a job offer. After that, I had to do two weeks of training at another store before being sent to my assigned store.
- Tell me about a time you dealt with a difficult customer and how you managed the situation.
Sales Manager
started with the store manager who explained the job and reviewed my experience then wanted to understand my personality and fit with the team. the next interview was with the District Manager, which was basically a repeat of the original interview.
- Can you tell me about a time you had to discipline an employee?
