It went smoothly, just answer questions about myself and knowledge I have. What I didn't like were the hours presented. Just bizarre and not worth it at all unless you lived 3 minutes away. Or you don't mind basically thinking about work every hour of every day. I don't really fault any person at the location I interviewed at, I just think the culture at LA Fitness isn't healthy at all from my initial impressions (ironic). They want to pile on as much pressure as they can on you from the start so that you'll perform sharply...They want to bleed you of all your time and energy while giving you as little as possible in return... I can just tell its very corrupt, thanks but no thanks. I'm glad I did this because now I know I will steer clear of any companies like this one. Luckily I had another job offer and went with that one instead. The attitude / demeanor of management was off. Smelled the fish from a mile away. LA Fitness really needs a revamp, they are using old models in a new world. Big box gyms like this need to go back to treating their employees and members as people and not commodities. Your pockets are DEEP right? Take a better approach and you might see improved results with your employees and less turnover. We all know that you're in the business that tends to bleed your people dry though, so I doubt that'll happen.

It was a really straightforward interview. They asked me about my past sales experience, my track record with targets, and how I'd handle different scenarios. Then, they handed me an orange and asked me to sell it to the interviewer. We had a good laugh about it, and I got hired the same day. The manager was super experienced in membership sales, so she was very direct about what she was looking for: someone who could perform and drive revenue.

The manager was an hour late for the interview. He was really cocky and arrogant and kept walking away, so I had to keep calling him because he didn't follow up. It wasn't very impressive, the whole process was unprofessional. They have a hard time getting top talent and keeping them because the company believes they can always replace people with someone else. The money may sound great but it's not realistic.
