Behavioral Presentation

I saw a sign in their window looking for staff, so I went in with my CV and a cover letter, which I gave to an employee. A month later, on August 22, 2017, the manager called me back. She asked if I was still looking for a job and said that the employee who took my CV had noted me down favorably. She offered to meet me the day after tomorrow for a 'training' on the cash register and their software. It was a temporary job, described as 'internal training by L'Occitane,' with no certificate because it was internal. It was paid at minimum wage and didn't guarantee a job afterward, but would give priority to future openings. It was supposed to be two half-days, 3 hours each, for a total of 6 hours. She mentioned that at the end of this training, we would discuss whether to continue working together if everything went well. I accepted and worked from August 24th to 25th. I was immediately put to work advising customers and meeting sales targets using their sales techniques. I did learn a lot. BUT... when I asked about signing a contract or anything, she said I didn't need to do anything as I'd already given her all the necessary papers. She claimed the head office handled it and would send it to the temp agency, so I should watch my mailbox and bank account. I tried to find out which temp agency it was, but she didn't know. She was already planning for me to continue the following week, scheduling the morning of the second day of our 'training.' This was halfway through the trial period, and no review had been done with me, yet the schedule was set. She seemed happy with my work, but the lack of a contract felt strange. I decided to stop there. Then, exactly one week later, on September 2nd, I called her to ask about my contract and pay. She said, 'Oh, you haven't received anything? Ah yes, the contract was processed after August 20th, so you should receive it by September 20th.' I thanked her and waited until October 2nd to call again because I still hadn't received anything. She said she would call HR and took my phone number. As of today, I'm still waiting. I haven't received my temporary contract or ANY payment, nor any proof of work. The manager, T.J., is known among her employees for being disorganized. Let's just hope she's honest and simply forgot to send the contract and papers to L'Occitane's head office... It's already hard for young people to find work, but if we're treated like this, it's better not to starve waiting for our pay!

I had an interview with the store manager and the sector manager. The interview was not partly in English, contrary to what I was told on the phone. It lasted about 20 minutes. I left with a booklet about L'Occitane and some samples. I will get the response a week later.

The interview was quick, it was one to one and very relaxed. I wouldn't stress too much about it at all because it was like a conversation - just be yourself and show that you have a bubbly personality :)
