Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at L.E.K. Consulting.
Consulting Intern
Super quick process, wrapped up in about 2-3 weeks. Started with a call with HR, then two back-to-back interviews with consultants, and finished with an interview with a Partner. The interviews focused on classic consulting case questions, including both fit and a case study.
- How do you handle personal fit questions and a case study on cost reduction?
- Tell me about yourself and a case study on cost reduction.
- Can you walk me through your experience, and we'll do a case study on cost reduction?
Associate Consultant
I applied online. The first round had two 30-minute interviews, with 10 minutes for behavioral questions and 20 minutes for a case (for consultants). The final round had three 30-minute interviews, with 10 minutes for behavioral questions and 20 minutes for a case (for managers and above). Everyone was nice. I thought the final round went well, but I didn't get an offer. The cases were standard, and one in the final round was focused on business logic/acumen, without a matching component and less structured.
- Can you share an instance where you made an error at work and describe your reaction?
Associate Consultant
It started with an online test, then a GMAT-style test. After that, I had two 45-minute interviews with associates and senior consultants. It was a blind interview, so they didn't ask about my CV. There was also a 15-minute break where I spoke with another associate and could ask them questions. I didn't make it to the next round, which was disappointing because I wish they had provided feedback to help me improve.
- Could you estimate the market size for solar panels in the UK?
- What would be a business case for a luxury car brand to enter the UK's EV market?
