Sales Associate
A reference really helps get your foot in the door for an interview. You'll have one group interview where the hiring manager or supervisor and another manager will ask each person a question. Sometimes they might use the same question and whoever answers first gets to present their reply. There's also roleplaying involved, where you'll be given different scenarios and have to come up with solutions.
- What would you do if a customer comes in and says they are "only looking"?
Sales Associate
I applied online and did a skills test. Then I had a 1:1 with the store manager who asked about my past retail work, where I find style inspiration, and how I'd define my personal style. The interviewer was really nice and checked my references that same day. I got the offer the next day and started training the following week.
- Can you explain why you departed from your previous employment?
- Could you elaborate on your personal style?
- Tell me about your past experience in retail.
Sales Associate
I went in person to the local VS and asked the cashier for an application. I filled it out and brought it back and she got the manager for me. The manager asked me why I wanted to work at VS and scheduled me for a group interview. About a week later, there were about 4 of us and she asked us different questions randomly. About a week after that, I was called and offered a sales position.
- Tell me about a time you had to overcome a challenge.
