Cashier
I had a phone call, then a zoom call, and then an in-person interview. After all that, I got an automated rejection even though they told me I got the job. It was a slow process and not worth the effort.
- Describe how you would manage a scenario where a customer shoplifts from the store.
Cashier
I did an online application, then had a phone interview about the job about a week later. They told me to put my references into their online system. Two weeks after that, I went in for a face-to-face interview with the assistant store lead. We talked about the company values, like honesty and integrity, and went over the job duties. They asked a lot of questions, about 75 minutes worth. They also asked about past criminal activity because they do a background check, so it's better to be honest. They also asked standard questions like if I'd been fired before, if I could pass a drug test, and about my schedule flexibility.
- Can you share a last random act of kindness?
- What makes you a better candidate than others?
- Are there any physical limitations that would keep you from doing the job?
Cashier
So first there was a phone call, like a preliminary chat. Then I went in for an in-person interview at the store. That second one was longer, like a full hour, and they asked a lot of questions and about how I'd handle different situations. After I said yes to the job, they had me come back for a drug test and a background check.
- Tell me about a time you dealt with conflict.
- What was something they inquired about?
