First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Kuehne+Nagel.
Warehouse Associate
I was expecting a regular interview but it turned into drawing pictures, giving a speech, a meeting with a manager, and building marshmallow and pasta towers. It felt more like psychometric testing than skills relevant to the job. They seemed more focused on how I performed during the interview stages. They even made me fill out a questionnaire about the experience before telling me the results, which I got on Monday after filling it out on Friday. I was unsuccessful. The job was advertised as permanent, but I think it was just temporary until Christmas. I told them I had 14 years of experience in warehousing and was looking to return after a 2-year break, so I found it odd I didn't make the shortlist. I asked for feedback on why I didn't get the job to improve my prospects, but got none. I have a facial disfigurement and speech issues, which I don't usually mention, but the whole process felt suspicious. It could be they advertised it as permanent but it was temporary, or they had an issue with my disability. I expected better from a big company, but reviews suggest they are inconsistent and unfair. It's a shame I put in so much effort and they wouldn't tell me why I didn't get the job. Silence feels like guilt. On the other hand, the assessment day was relaxing and fun, so it wouldn't be fair to badmouth the company.
- Where do you see yourself in the future with our company?
- What are your long-term goals with this company?
Warehouse Manager
I got a call from a MNC in my city offering a 45% raise over my previous salary. I talked to my current employer's upper management, and they initially agreed to let me go, but then they weren't happy about me leaving when it came time to join the new company.
- Can you share some details about your family background?
Warehouse Worker
The phone call was very good, no silly questions. Straight to the point, asking about my experience and education. They described the conditions and even though it's an employment agency where you can be for 8 years (some people have been), it's up to you to accept it or not.
- Could you tell me about your previous experience working as a warehouse worker?
