First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at KOTRA.
Marketing Assistant
I got an email and a call about 3 days after I applied. The whole process was quite quick and easy, I can't complain. I had my first interview with the managers, and then 5 days later, I received a call for a second interview.
- Can you tell me about your previous work experiences?
- What are your strengths and weaknesses?
Receptionist
The interview started with a welcome to the office, followed by a self-introduction. We then went over an overview of the company, the job description, your desired salary, and your expected starting date. The future person in charge was also mentioned. The process was transparent, quick, thorough, and thoughtful.
- Can you explain what you understand about our organization?
Business Development Specialist
There were 3 interviewers and about 5-6 candidates in a group interview where they asked questions one by one. The questions were about CV, basic market knowledge of the office location (sometimes specific), and knowledge of current trends. There was also a case assignment where you had 1 hour to write a response to some detailed case questions.
- In what ways does your past experience align with our company's needs, how do you handle disagreements, and what do you consider your main strengths and weaknesses?
- Regarding our current project for clients in the automotive parts sector, what insights do you have on their market presence in this specific region, and what is your perspective on the potential impact of the presidential elections on these markets?
Manager
I had one or more interviews. They asked normal questions about my strengths, weaknesses, work style, and what I hope to gain from the company in the future. The company has a vertical culture, not an international one, with Korean bosses focused solely on Korean company revenue. It seems like some people might not grow with the company, like they're just pretending to work.
- Can you tell me about your strengths and weaknesses?
