So the whole process was pretty thorough and well-rounded. It took about two weeks, give or take. There were three soft skill interviews and three technical ones. We kicked off with HR and the hiring manager, which was cool because you get a feel for the company and how the team lead manages early on. After that, I had two interviews with current data engineers. These involved coding challenges, either face-to-face or on Zoom. They weren't too tough, and the interviewers were really open to questions and helping out when I got stuck. Then came a system design interview. For me, it turned into more of a technical interview, but it was a good chance to show how I approach big tasks. The last interview was another soft skill one, but it was mostly for me to ask questions. I got to ask about anything that might be a red flag regarding management, work environment, coworkers, etc.

Behavioral Coding

It was a pretty typical tech interview setup. First, a recruiter chat, then a technical part, and finally an onsite. The recruiters were great, and the company's product is neat, but people there seem overloaded. The hiring manager during the final interview was kinda rude, checking emails while we talked. Then he asked me to do a coding challenge over the weekend after the onsite, which I didn't do. They really don't respect people's time and will keep losing candidates to companies that know better.

Behavioral Technical

This was one of the best interview experiences I've ever had. The recruiter, Jenna, was great – really knew the company and how my skills fit, which made me super enthusiastic. She also kept in touch, even calling right after my onsite interviews. The overall process is pretty typical: a recruiter chat, then a hiring manager interview that included technical aspects, followed by onsite interviews. It all went very smoothly, and I got more and more excited about the role after each step.
