Got a tough test task, then just a generic rejection email, no real feedback. I tried to get some specifics on why I didn't get it, but they just went quiet. Seems like this place uses candidates for free work and might be stealing ideas.
- Can you complete a test assignment?
Game Designer
I applied online and had an initial chat over Skype. After that, I had two interviews at Kolibri Games' office in Berlin. The final step involved two trial days at the office. Everyone was pretty nice and open during the interviews. The trial days were the most useful for me to get a better feel for the company and my potential future colleagues.
- Have you personally played Idle Miner Tycoon?
- What's your experience with Idle Miner Tycoon?

It was a pretty typical interview process at first (an initial call, a test, and two interviews), but then it moved to trial days, which were a bit unusual. During these trial days, you'd spend two days working on trial tasks, and at the end of each day, you'd present your work to the team. You were also encouraged to communicate and collaborate with other team members. Everyone I interacted with was really friendly, and the whole process was super quick, efficient, and clear. The trial days were definitely the toughest part because balancing the time for your tasks with the time spent collaborating and chatting with other Kolibris could be a lot. But, in the end, the trial days were worth it because I got to meet the team I might join and see the kind of work I'd be doing. After the interviews, and especially after the trial days, they give really thorough feedback. This is super helpful for the trial days because you can use the feedback from day one to make improvements on day two.
- What feedback or suggestions do you have for improving Idle Miner Tycoon?
