While the people seemed approachable, there was a bit of a cool demeanor. Overall, the vibe was just average, okay but not great. The office itself had a basic, minimalist design.

I interviewed back in mid-2009 when the economy was really shaky. There were tons of resumes for just one position. My unique software skills and past work experience helped me get an interview. They didn't really have a job description; it felt like they were creating one during the interview. The interview was professional, with the design partner reviewing my portfolio and resume near the end. I had a second interview with a senior associate principal about projects she was working on. I got an offer within about a week or ten days, but the pay was 20% less than I was making before. I took it because I didn't have other options.

The process involved a walk-through of my portfolio, and they asked questions about some images they were interested in. Then they asked three questions: first, why I'm interested in KPF; second, which KPF projects I like; and third, if I had any questions. The interview lasted about 25 minutes.
