First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Koch.
Reliability Engineer
It's a bunch of interviews. Usually begins with a screening chat with the HR recruiter from the Wichita corporate office. The next round is normally a Teams video call with the hiring manager, plus a few other people. If you're applying for a specific production plant, they'll fly you out for an on-site interview, which usually involves 2-3 sessions with 2 people on the interview team. After that, someone shows you around the plant floor, through the actual production areas, to answer any questions you might have right there.
- Can you describe a situation where you contributed to transforming a product or process in a past or current role?
Process Engineer
Had a phone chat with the recruiter, then went onsite for an interview. Talked with two engineering managers and two coworkers. They asked some standard questions and I talked about my past experiences in more detail. They treated me to lunch and then I was done.
- Can you describe your experience troubleshooting equipment and processes?
Process Engineer
This was the best interview experience I've ever had. HR was super efficient and nice, and the whole thing moved so fast I was in shock. I applied on a Thursday and got an email the following Tuesday to book an interview. I had a phone interview with a great HR person who made me feel comfortable and even shared company info, though I'd already done my research. An hour later, I got an email to set up my final onsite interview. The next day, another HR person called to help with my flight and hotel. My final interview was even better. They really make you feel valued. The whole process was very welcoming and helpful. Upon arrival, I had a brief meeting with HR, then four 45-minute interviews. They even FedExed me a packet of information and a visa, so no annoying expense reports. All the interviewers were managers and seemed more interested in getting to know me than grilling me with questions, but I still recommend reviewing common interview questions so you can easily adapt your own experiences (e.g., from monster.com's list of 100 common questions).
- Can you tell me about your senior design project?
