First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Koalafi.
Business Analyst
I was reached out to by Melissa Nolan, a recruiter, who gave me a really good feel for the company. She was quick to reply, made sure I got answers to my questions, and was upfront about the interview steps and when things would happen. After her call, I had a case interview. Passing that led to two more cases, a technical case, a behavioral interview, and a conversational interview. Everyone I spoke with knew their stuff and were happy to answer any questions. The company really prioritizes hiring smart and authentic people, with a big emphasis on cultural fit.
- What are your core values and motivations?
Business Analyst
The recruiter was late for our call and messed up the position details. They were clearly not paying attention during the entire interview, as I could hear them walking around, washing their hands, pulling out tissues, and opening the door. When I asked questions, they gave irrelevant answers. In the end, they mentioned that the company already had candidates in the final stage, so I likely wouldn't move forward. It was disappointing because I spent hours preparing to learn about the company's culture. Please be respectful. I feel lucky to have gotten a rejection email the next day; I can't imagine how bad it would have been if I had advanced.
- What motivates you to work for a startup?
Business Analyst
It started with a recruiter screen, then a first round behavioral interview. After that, there were five more interviews which were a mix of behavioral and case interviews. The cases were mostly business cases, like the ones for Capital One BA interviews, and sometimes brainteaser-style cases. I felt the process was a bit long, but not excessively so.
