First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Koalafi.
Product Management Director
My interview with Koalafi was a really positive experience. It felt thought-out and open from the beginning. It kicked off with a chat with the recruiter, then a good talk with the hiring manager, and finished with four back-to-back interviews with future colleagues. All the interviews felt like a real conversation, and the team was smart, open, and really into what they're building. We discussed the role, its challenges, and future opportunities openly. I felt good after each chat, respected, and even more keen on the job. The recruiter made the whole thing easy and clear, always there to help with questions and updates. I came away from the whole process really liking the company culture, the role, and the people.
- What makes you want to join Koalafi?
Business Analyst
I was reached out to by Melissa Nolan, a recruiter, who gave me a really good feel for the company. She was quick to reply, made sure I got answers to my questions, and was upfront about the interview steps and when things would happen. After her call, I had a case interview. Passing that led to two more cases, a technical case, a behavioral interview, and a conversational interview. Everyone I spoke with knew their stuff and were happy to answer any questions. The company really prioritizes hiring smart and authentic people, with a big emphasis on cultural fit.
- What are your core values and motivations?
Sales Development Representative
It started with a chat with the recruiter, then a second interview with the Hiring Manager to get to know me and make sure we were on the same page about the role. After that, there was a panel interview with four leaders at HQ. They were all really nice and asked about how I'd fit in, some behavioral stuff, and team dynamics. It didn't feel like a trick interview at all. The last step was a Zoom call with the Director of Enterprise; they said it was between me and one other person and they wanted everyone to meet both of us before deciding. It was great how open they were about everything.
- In what ways can your previous experience be applied to this position?
Merchant Support Representative
This role, which is basically a call center job, had 4 parts to the interview. First, there was a phone call with a recruiter, then a Zoom interview with the department supervisor, and finally, a two-part in-person interview with the manager and department head. It was surprising to have so many steps for this type of work and the low pay. The manager asked questions that didn't seem related to the job, almost as if trying to confuse me. It felt like too many steps just to not get the job. After the final interview, I had to follow up multiple times for updates. The recruiter mentioned they were still interviewing, which made me feel like I was still a contender. About 3 weeks later, I got a generic email saying they chose someone else. It's odd they made me wait instead of just saying I wasn't chosen. In this job market, that was really inconsiderate and a waste of my time.
- What's your approach to prioritizing when faced with multiple simultaneous responsibilities?
