Went through 4 rounds. First HR, then someone not from the company. Got a "Thanks, but no thanks" email by mistake. Reached out, HR apologized (was on PTO), said it wasn't meant for me. Then interviewed with Hiring Manager. After that, did an hour-long product demo with HM and outside recruiter. Then silence for 3 weeks, despite checking in. Finally got the same "Thanks, but no thanks" email again. 4 rounds over a month and no proper closing communication.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

Got an email from HR to set up a phone interview. Talked with the HR Director over the phone. It was friendly but quick, focusing on my resume. I had to pull my experience from different times and areas of my career and quickly confirm my skills. It was a bit of an "on your toes" kind of chat. If they liked that, the HR Director sent over the next steps, which was a writing assignment. I had to write two marketing documents based on scenarios to show I can write and if I'm a good fit. Then, I went in person to meet two department heads and a colleague I'd be working with. The department heads were more intense, and it was hard to tell how I was doing; their style is very different from customer-facing roles because this company is heavy on tech/development. The environment felt laid-back and startup-like, with nice people. The in-person interview was more of a conversation with specific questions sprinkled in. Everyone had a slightly different way of interviewing, but it wasn't too intense. I really liked meeting a potential colleague; it shows they care about their employees, want them to like who they work with, and respect their input. It also gave me a better sense of the team. It's so important to get along with the people you work with every day, and that seemed to be the case here. Within the same week, I got a call and an offer. They wanted me to start ASAP, so I gave my two weeks' notice and transitioned in.

Communication with the employer was prompt. I answered questions quickly, and they were quite flexible with scheduling the interview since I'm a university student. The atmosphere wasn't too serious, but not informal either. You could tell they are down-to-earth but still focused on the business, and there was a noticeable aura of success and getting things done.
