Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at KnowBe4.
Customer Success Manager
It was a phone interview that lasted about 20 minutes. The questions asked were pretty standard for a Customer Success Manager role, with some situational questions and others asking me to explain how my past experience relates to this specific job. I didn't advance to the next round because the offered salary was too low for me, especially considering the requirement to commute to the office three days a week.
- Could you describe your experience with customer onboarding?
Customer Success Manager
Sierra conducted my interview and she was awesome; very down to earth, on time to both of our meetings, super knowledgeable and I could tell she really roots for candidates. I appreciated that she was professional, but not intimidating in a way that sometimes makes interviews stuffy and uncomfortable. I felt at ease with being myself, showcasing my skillset and asking any questions I had knowing that I was truly being listened to. The conversation flowed great and the role playing scenarios at the end were unique and thought provoking. I got a hint of what the role’s day-to-day would look like and appreciated the feedback in return. This company very much cares about people, which I suspect is a top reason for its success. I’d encourage anyone to apply and interview!
- What makes you the better candidate compared to someone with more direct experience in this specific role?
Customer Success Manager
After applying, I got a call back the same day for a phone interview. It was short, and they asked me to come in the next day for an in-person meeting. Once I arrived, I was taken to a room with just a table and chair. We talked a little about my past work and my career goals. Then, they told me I'd have to take some tests, including an IQ test and a personality test. I noticed the test software was copyrighted by L. Ron Hubbard, which means it's a Scientology company. I took the tests but didn't continue with the hiring process.
- Can you introduce yourself?
- What would you say is your biggest flaw?
- Describe a time you successfully handled an objection.
