I applied through AMCAT. The interview process had multiple rounds. First, there was an Online Test which was an elimination round, testing Aptitude and Technical skills (OOPS, Java, Sql). The online test was easy. Second, a Programming round (Non-Elimination Round) using pen and paper, with two questions, one easy and one hard. Any language could be used, and the questions were from geeksforgeeks. This round wasn't an elimination. Third, a Technical Interview with two interviewers. They first asked me to explain the programming round problem, then explain provided code. I explained one code perfectly. After that, they asked about everything on my resume, specifically my internship and projects. Since I mentioned Java, they asked about my project and Java in detail, including OOPS concepts. They gave me code and asked for the output. Then, they moved to databases, asking about SQL queries, primary keys, and composite keys. They covered topics from encapsulation to multi-threading, and I answered everything. My interview lasted about 1 hour. They said the result would be declared by evening after all candidates from the pool campus drive were interviewed. I didn't receive any mail. After two days, I called HR, and she mentioned the results were declared, but I wasn't selected. I feel there should be more transparency.

I applied through AMCAT for the Software Consultant role. The interview process had 3 rounds. The first round was a technical and apti written test that lasted for 1 hour and had 60 questions, with 30 for each section. After that, those who were shortlisted were called for an interview. This interview had a panel of two people. They asked me questions about Java based on my resume. They started by giving me two simple programs to write the code for on paper. Then, they asked conceptual questions about Java. After successfully clearing this round, I was asked to come to their office. There, they gave me 2 questions on a printed sheet and I had 1 hour to write the code. The instruction was to finish as soon as possible and then inform them. The questions were of medium difficulty, similar to those found on GeeksforGeeks.

So first they do a telephonic interview based on your current experience and skills. For me, it was on Scala. Then, they schedule a coding round, this time in Java. If you pass that, they want an in-person or Skype interview where they'll grill you on Java again. This is a bit odd since your profile and work experience are in a completely different technology. They ask you to rate yourself out of 10 in Java and Hadoop, even though you're experienced in Scala and Spark with just a little Play knowledge.
