First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Knobbe Martens Olson & Bear.
Associate
It was a pretty easy interview and it went well. The interviewer did most of the talking, but he was very nice. Just make sure to be prepared to talk about why you want to join their firm.

- What makes you want to join Knobbe?
Docketing Specialist
I came into the office for an in person interview because I wanted to see what the office culture was like. Even though the job was posted as on site, I found out that most people in this department work from home and they are the only department allowed to. When I asked about working in the office, they said "I guess you would have a desk here if you wanted to." I interviewed with HR and the department manager, and they were very impressed by my experience and how I did on the interview tests. The salary range posted was about $60-90k, so I asked for $75k, and they were surprised, saying that was much higher than they could offer for someone with 8 years of experience. They never got back to me after the interview.
- What are your strategies for communicating with and gathering information from colleagues?
Conflicts Analyst
I went through 4 interview rounds over a few weeks. It started with the recruiter, then I met with the conflicts manager, followed by the in-house counsel, and finally the conflicts team. They ended up offering me the job, but it was at the very bottom of their salary range, which I found surprising given my background. They mentioned they couldn't pay more than people with over 5 years of experience, which makes me wonder about their current employees' pay. I wouldn't recommend this place.
- Can you describe your experience with processing conflicts?
- What software have you used for conflicts processing?
- How do you keep up with news and current events?
Legal Associate
The interview process involved an initial 30-minute screener with a partner. This was followed by a callback session featuring interviews with 6 different partners from various offices, each lasting 30 minutes, making for a total interview duration of 3 hours. The experience was described as smooth and casual, with an environment that encouraged questions about the firm and its work.
