The interview process kicked off with a phone screening, followed by a case-solving round. The third round also involved case-solving, but with a different case, and it tested my understanding of the subject, analytical and presentation skills, and knowledge of market scenarios and laws.

Behavioral Technical

I had 3 interviews with staff and senior managers, who were very welcoming. HR told me twice I was the preferred candidate and they were getting my salary expectations approved. Then, I heard nothing. I emailed twice to check the status but received no response or further calls. I was very disappointed as it seemed like a great place to work, but very shocked that I was essentially ghosted instead of being informed if they had changed their minds or withdrawn the role.

Behavioral Technical Case

I interviewed with Mr. Gulam Zia, the National Head of Advisory Services at Knight Frank. His division covers Research, Consulting, and Valuation. When I arrived, he was on a loud phone call with a client from a large bank, reprimanding them for their decision-making speed. He then hung up and remarked about how well business must be doing for him to speak that way to a major client. I nervously grinned. He then unexpectedly asked if I had ever traveled by local train in Bombay. After I confirmed, he questioned if I was a 'spoilt brat' or a 'blue blooded prince,' implying that some associates sent by Mr. Vakil were just there for a good time and didn't work. He asked if I would leave within two months. I assured him I intended to stay for a couple of years. He remained skeptical about my dedication, citing the 'channel' I came through, but admitted he wasn't fully convinced. I asked for more information about the job, and he inquired about my background and goals. He then questioned how my BBA in Marketing and planned MBA in Finance fit with a real estate role, to which I explained my career progression in asset management. Finally, he asked when I could start, and I impulsively offered to work the remaining 45 minutes of the day. He then offered me the job, starting Monday.
