So I had this initial phone screen with HR first. They asked me about how much I wanted to make, had me give a quick intro about myself, and then they told me about the job. The next day, I got an invite for an interview with the hiring manager. We talked all about my past work and the reasons why I wanted a new job. And that was it. I didn't hear anything back after that, so I guess I got rejected.

The interview process was lengthy, involving 4 main interviews. The final stage was an in-person event with four 30-minute interviews with different department members. We went out to lunch afterward, which was a nice chance to get to know future colleagues better. It was nerve-wracking, but the interviewers were friendly and asked thorough questions that were manageable with some preparation.

I had a phone panel interview. They seemed really interested and one manager said they needed to find a spot for me and appreciated my experience. But then management changed and they decided not to go forward. About a month later, they contacted my recruiter to talk again, but nothing came of it. Even a year later, Klein Tools keeps reposting the same job, making me think they aren't serious about hiring a manufacturing engineer. I used to have a good impression of the company, but now I feel lucky they didn't follow up.

I applied online via Indeed and was invited to a tour of the plant to see the position location and duties. They also explained safety processes. I met with the HR generalist, the first shift supervisor, the plant manager, and the second shift supervisor. Then I was given an application to fill out. About a week and a half later, I was given a job after discussing my experiences that matched the role.
