It was a quick process, even though I was hired as a contractor through an agency, it included a pattern recognition test. The steps were: Intro call, Test, Hiring manager interview, Offer. Alternatively: Intro, Test, Hiring manager, Case study, Team call, Offer.

The whole hiring process took about 3 weeks from start to finish, which I thought was super fast! The Talent Acquisition team I interacted with was amazing and kept me in the loop the whole time. It started with a casual chat with the recruiter to see if I was a good fit and for me to learn more about the role and why I was looking to switch jobs. They stressed the importance of knowing about Klarna and having questions ready. Next up was an online assessment, kind of like an IQ test, with the recruiter observing. They provide practice tests beforehand, which are really helpful. I got the green light from the recruiter on that and was told the next two interviews would be back-to-back the following couple of days. The third interview was a 'behavioural interview' focusing on Klarna’s core values, and I used the STAR method as they suggested. The final interview was with the team lead to gauge team compatibility, understand my motivations, and asked about my current job likes/dislikes and a time I got feedback.

Behavioral Other

Klarna have an odd process. Some good interviews, but more upfront detail about them would be beneficial. The sourcing test is managed by a Sourcer, my experience was that this person is not a skilled interviewer. To improve experience I would suggest to have this step as a sourcing test only. I was informed I would have received an offer if my comp expectations were lower. Which then just meant the process was a waste of time and something that could have been communicated up front. So communicating the ranges for each role you are being considered for would be helpful and potentially reduce churn.
