Product Manager
You'll have about 4 or 5 interviews total. It starts with a phone screen, then a bar raiser interview which is really connected to Klarna's leadership principles. After that, there's a case presentation where you take home a realistic task related to the team and present your plan. Then, you'll meet with the hiring team and have more Bar Raiser interviews. The case interviews can differ, but they generally involve creating an action plan with insights, a development plan, go-to-market strategy, and engineering trade-offs, focusing on how to solve the problem.
- Can you share an example of when you built something using data?
- Describe a situation where you used data to guide the development of a product.

So I had this crazy interview experience. It started with a recruiter reaching out via email, and although it was standard, I decided to go ahead. Almost immediately, I got a link for a logical test with 18 questions to be completed in 15 minutes. I completed it, thinking it was just part of the process. Then, another HR person contacted me saying I passed the test and wanted to schedule an interview. We had a 45-minute call where they asked the usual questions about my background and experience. The HR person said everything looked good, and we'd move to the next stage. The surprise came next: another logical test, but this time live with video monitoring! I couldn't believe it, especially with my 7+ years of experience and having already done a test. But curiosity got the better of me. I joined the call, met a new HR person, and did the test again. I got 13 out of 18 correct. When I asked about the passing score, the HR said there wasn't one and my result was good. They mentioned they'd combine feedback from the previous interview and then invite me for interviews with other PMs. I asked why there were two logical tests, and the response was basically 'nobody knows.' Two days later, I was rejected. They never asked any product-specific questions, so I don't think they knew what kind of specialist I was. The interview process really shows a company's culture, and because of this, I know I'll never apply to Klarna again.

They had me do these logical tests, which I spent my time on, but then they didn't move forward with me. I feel like these tests are outdated, and many companies don't use them anymore. It would be good if they at least gave some feedback. Anyway, I won't be applying to Klarna again.
- I was assigned a logical test instead of an interview.
