Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at KKR.
Associate
So, there were a few steps. First was like a casual intro coffee chat. Then, I had a follow-up interview where I met more of the team. After that, there was a take-home case study, and then an interview specifically about that case study. The last step was a final round, a confirmatory interview with some senior staff members.
- Could you describe your current job responsibilities and typical daily tasks?
- How do you think your experience in your current role and daily activities would translate to this position?
Associate
The hiring process was fast and efficient. It took a while to get feedback after the initial interview, but once the main interviews started, it wrapped up in about two months. For some roles, especially fundraising ones, it might take longer. I was applying for an investment role and didn't encounter many technical questions, unlike at Blackstone.
- Could you tell me about your favorite book?
Associate
I was asked to discuss an investment I liked and explain my rationale. I also had some general questions about my strengths and weaknesses. The interviewer was strict and direct, and didn't ask me any questions about myself.
- Could you describe a recent deal you found interesting and elaborate on why?
- What are your main strengths and weaknesses?
- Tell me about a deal you like in the news and why.
