Behavioral Presentation

First, I had a conversation with an assistant where we mainly discussed my motivation and the project. Then, the professor joined, who initially ignored me, unlocked the office, sat down, and then offered a handshake over the desk. There were few technical questions, mostly general ones mixed with rude questions like: 'Where do you want to work if not in academia?'. Before my presentation, I was offered water that tasted sour and stale. Midway through the presentation, the professor left the room, which he announced beforehand but still felt disrespectful. Long story short: they made me travel from another city even though it seemed like the position was going to be filled internally from the start. Rude questions, disrespectful behavior, and the apparent belief that only the applicant needs to show good manners. The application process was long, with no response for a significant period.

  • What difficulties did you face?
