Masterand
It was very relaxed. There were some content-related questions as well as personal ones. Of course, knowledge and drawing skills are tested. The introduction involves presenting your own project. Knowledge questions from the bachelor's thesis topic were asked.
- Why do you want to study architecture at KIT?
Scientist
Had a 30 min online chat first, then a 2 hours online technical interview where I had to give a 10 min presentation about my project. After that, I was supposed to visit Karlsruhe for a full day to see the facilities, have a final interview, and have lunch with the team, for which I had to book my own travel and accommodation. But, the day before the interview, I was told the position was closed and the interview cancelled. My emails asking for explanations were ignored, which was unprofessional and rude.
- Tell me about a time you experienced something unexpected and disappointing. How did you handle it?
Manager
It had its ups and downs. The talent acquisition manager was a bit impatient but still polite. Some of the questions asked didn't really make sense, but they were easy enough that it didn't end up being a problem. Overall, I'd say it was a good experience.
- What are your salary expectations per year, and when would you be available to begin working?
- What's your yearly salary expectation and when can you start.
Project Manager
So there was a numeracy test, which was good, and it involved lots of variety, similar to what I use day-to-day. This was followed by literacy tests, which tested my verbal communication, like choosing the right words for certain scenarios.
